11-27-08 Recap

Magic beat Wizards: I’m not sure if it was a case of the Magic keeping their foot on the pedal or a case of the Wizards being lazy, but Orlando gained a big lead early in the second half and the game pretty much ended right there … Shooting 46.9% and playing great defense (Washington had an efficiency of 98.9 for the game) is a great recipe for success … Poor Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison. It seems as though in every Wizards recap I write I discuss how great those two played but how little help they got. That was the case again tonight, as the two combined for 42 points on efficient shooting but the third leading scorer managed just 12, mostly in garbage time … In my opinion, even if Gilbert Arenas was playing, Washington would still be disappointing (although obviously not this much).

Hornets beat Nuggets: Chris Paul was great as usual, but how about Rasual Butler? He had a strong first quarter and ended up shooting 7-8, including 4-5 on three-pointers … James Posey lived up to his reputation with a clutch three … J.R. Smith was the player of the game. He went 13-21 for 32 points and carried a Nuggets offense that got little scoring besides from Smith and Carmelo Anthony.
